AR Message Tree

Project details

The AR Message Tree is a high-impact Social Spatial Engagement platform engineered for the Ministry of Immersion to redefine public interaction during GITEX 2020. The architecture bridges the gap between static physical media and dynamic cloud-persistent data, transforming traditional posters into interactive portals for Distributed User-Generated Content (UGC). Developed within a compressed 8-week R&D cycle, the project demonstrates a sophisticated approach to vision-based spatial anchoring and real-time state management.

Key Systems Architecture

  • Vision-Based Spatial Anchoring: Engineered a performant image-recognition pipeline to transform static 2D posters into high-fidelity, animated 3D environments with sub-second latency.
  • Distributed UGC Orchestration: Architected a real-time messaging framework using Node.js, allowing users to anchor personal messages to a shared virtual tree and interact with a persistent global social state.
  • Cloud-Persistent State Management: Developed a robust backend infrastructure to securely store, moderate, and serve user-generated messages across a distributed network of mobile clients.
  • High-Velocity Narrative Deployment: Managed the rapid synthesis of 3D animations and interactive UI layers to deliver a cohesive, story-driven experience optimized for a wide array of consumer smartphones.

Technical Leadership & Ownership
As the Lead Systems Architect & Full-Stack Engineer, I spearheaded the end-to-end technical execution of this public activation:

  • Full-Stack Blueprinting: Authored the integrated technical strategy for the Unity-based AR environment and the Node.js messaging backend.
  • Rapid Prototyping & Ideation: Directed the conceptualization of core social features, ensuring technical feasibility matched the high-engagement requirements of a global tech summit.
  • Deployment & Operational Reliability: Managed the operational integrity of the system during one of the world's largest tech events, ensuring 100% uptime for high-traffic public usage.
